I actually could really relate to this story. I mean, sometimes, without being able to explain how or why, I just believe. And it's a deep, unshakeable knowledge of God's love and existence. Not to say, of course, I don't have doubts sometimes too -- just that I could relate to this crazy analogy he gave.
